The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that more than 78% of adults, age 50 and older, are at risk for health problems related to lack of regular and sustained physical activity. Individuals can greatly reduce their risk of dying from heart disease and decrease the risk for colon cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure by engaging in regular physical activity.
Health & Fitness
Arthritis Aquatics (AFYAP)
This class is designed through a partnership with the Arthritis Foundation with the purpose of providing an opportunity for people with arthritis to participate in a group water fitness class and have fun. The class consists of range of motion and muscle strengthening/endurance exercises, and is taught by certified instructors.
Older Adult Climb
Do you think age is just a number? Then this class is for you. You must be at least 50 years young and up for new challenges. This class will focus on the fundamentals of climbing with emphasis on having fun.
Senior Shape Ups
Senior Pilates: This senior friendly class combines introductory pilates with stretching and balance. Use of some equipment and fit balls. Winter and Spring only.
Super Seniors: Experience the benefits of exercise as well as fellowship in this energetic exercise time. Enjoyable music, simple to follow movements and fun are some of the components of this class. Included in this class is an invigorating swim at your own pace. Emphasis is on flexibility, strength endurance and cardio- respiratory health.
Seniors On Weights: Learn proper training techniques and execution when training with light free weights, bands and bars.
